Tenerife power cuts soon overcome

For a relatively small island, Tenerife has an amazing diversity of micro climates, sometimes it changes around the coast from bay to bay. Last week a lightning storm up north took down the power for the entire island for around 6 hours. To the outside world, that was just part of the picture, at the same time around the south and west coast resorts of Los Cristianos and Los Gigantes, it was a hot sunny day.

Many only noticed the lack of power when they went to switch on fans or air conditioning, and those relaxing on the beach, were blissfully unaware of the mini crisis. For a small island, exposed in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, there will always be the odd weather problem, and at times like this, you really appreciate good management on your complex.

Wimpen Leisure Management take these hiccups in their stride, they have years of experience to draw on, and all the right contacts to chase up for quick solutions. The varied nature of Tenerife is one of its many attractions, in less than an hour you can drive from the all purpose modern resorts of the south and west, to the rural mountain areas and small villages, or the wine producing valleys in the shadow of Mount Teide with its snow capped peak.

While you are out enjoying the wonders of the island, it’s good to know that your resort in is good hands and there is always someone to contact on those rare times when there is a problem to be dealt with.
