Making sweet music in Tenerife

With just a slight lull for re-tuning, the Carnaval season moves from the Tenerife capital of Santa Cruz, down west to Los Gigantes, and south to Los Cristianos. Music is the heart beat of theses big parties, but it is by no means confined just to Carnaval time.

Big concerts with international stars look like becoming the order of the day, well Tenerife has the weather and plenty of great outdoor settings. Last February, Elton John tinkled the ivories and belted out the hits at Golf Costa Adeje, and on May 16, Rod Stewart will be gracing the same venue for another big music night.
The promoters have promised several further mega concerts this year, and both the Heliodoro football stadium in Santa Cruz, and the Las Americas football stadium, down south, have held concerts in recent years by Jamiroqui, Marc Anthony, and Shakira.

Tenerife also attracts classic artists from the past, for smaller more intimate concerts, Chuck Berry, Echo and the Bunnymen and Craig David have all passed this way in the last year. Just a few more good reasons to live in Tenerife.
